Geeks are all over. We are proud and flamboyant; we are shy and illusive. Find another nerd, and you can become instant friends. So to all the nerds I met along the way…to the nerds I nerded with…and to those that I never knew: it was nice meeting you.
On seeing Castillo de los Templarios, I was immediately transported back in time to childhood fantasies. There were princesses and knights and grand battles. There was an army storming the gates, putting the castle under seige.
The first evidence of the small folk I witnessed was just outside Hornillos del Camino. A series of small wooden doors with bricked exteriors along the side of the hill. Tables, benches and unkempt gardens stood unassuming beside the road. The unkempt gardens were the first clue that something terrible was happening. No good hobbit would let the garden go untended.
Carefully, I set myself down as my knees grew weak. The rush of emotion I had been holding at bay surged forward. The golden alter sparkled beneath the veil of my tears. Placing my hand to my heart, I attempted to hold it in to no avail.
