Watching a joust is one of the most exciting experiences. The thundering hooves, the clanking armour, the resounding slam of lances finding their targets, splintering and exploding in a shower of wood. It is impossible to not get caught up in the energy and power of the sport.
The Medieval Fall Faire in Coombs British Columbia, is fairly new to guests. This is only the second year that onlookers have been invited to the annual gathering to marvel in the amazing skills of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). The SCA are a non-profit group found internationally. They are a history forward group who put on a range of events for SCA members, as well as open events.
The entire reason we went to Tomar to begin with was because I stumbled across a themed restaurant. I was immediately taken by the pictures and menu of Taverna Antiqua and had to go.
